Tom McHale is the Chief Financial Officer and VP of Business Operations at SunStream Business Services
BELLEVUE, WASH. – March 2, 2026 – The Technology Business Management (TBM) Council, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the discipline of TBM through education, standards, and collaboration between IT leaders and business partners, recently announced the appointment of Tom McHale, Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Business Operations at SunStream Business Services, to its Board of Directors.
Tom joins a recently expanded Board that includes leaders from Liberty Mutual, Blackrock, the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), and IBM.
Tom joined SunStream Business Services in 2021 after spending 15 years in senior-level financial leadership roles across multiple organizations. He brings significant experience managing technology expenditures, negotiating complex technology contracts, and driving financial discipline within technology organizations. A long-time champion of TBM practices, Tom has successfully implemented TBM in three different enterprises.

In his role at SunStream, Tom oversees Finance, Human Resources, Vendor Management, Tax, Audit, Governance, Compliance, and Insurance. His expertise helps drive financial excellence through cost transparency, strong communication, and rigorous compliance and accounting practices. He holds a degree in Economics from Iowa State University and a JD from the University of St. Thomas School of Law. In addition to his corporate leadership responsibilities, Tom serves as a frequent guest lecturer at the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management on IT business value, and mentors students through the University of St. Thomas School of Law’s mentor externship program.
