Walsh will support the Council’s mission of helping leaders create business value from every technology investment, resource, and asset by developing TBM standards, education, collaboration opportunities, and an open TBM ecosystem across the globe.
BELLEVUE, WASH. – December 5, 2024 – The Technology Business Management (TBM) Council, a non-profit business entity dedicated to advancing the discipline of TBM through education, standards, and collaboration between IT leaders and business partners, is thrilled to announce the appointment of Laura Walsh as their new Chairperson of the Board.
Walsh has served as a member of the TBM Council Board of Directors since March 2023 and brings with her a wealth of experience driving digital transformation across multiple CIO roles in the manufacturing industry. Throughout her career, Walsh has enabled many organizations to unlock and understand the value of technology. She holds an MBA from the University of Connecticut School of Business and her dedication to the next generation of Technology professionals is evident by her role as an adjunct professor at Southern Connecticut State University teaching Business Information Systems.
In cooperation with the TBM Council leadership team, led by Matt Guarini, Executive Director, the board of directors is responsible for steering the strategy, vision and mission of the Council. The board meets regularly to further the mission of the Council and to guide the ongoing development of TBM standards and research, education offerings, and collaboration opportunities, while fostering an open TBM ecosystem across the globe.
“In my first call with Laura, she told me a story of how she has used TBM across four different CIO roles to build high quality and high trust relationships with the companies’ CEOs and CFOs,” said Matt Guarini, Executive Director of the TBM Council. “Her passion for TBM was evident; her results were strong. We are proud to announce her as Chair, and I personally am excited to work with her to reinvigorate the TBM Council.”
Retiring as the Council chairperson, Ashley Pettit has served the Council community since 2018 and has been a critical voice driving the expansion of TBM to serve the needs of the modern enterprise. This includes the TBM Taxonomy, now in version 5.0, the industry’s first standard cost model for hybrid environments to help organizations achieve their digital transformation goals by optimally leveraging cloud and agile practices to deliver on business objectives. Ashley will remain with the Board serving in Emeritus.
