TBM Council Opens Submissions for the 2026 Global TBM Council Awards

Winners to be honored at the 2026 TBM Conference, November 9-11, in Miami, Florida

 

BELLEVUE, Wash. – May 4, 2026 – The Technology Business Management (TBM) Council, a global nonprofit dedicated to advancing the practice of TBM, today announced that submissions are now open for the 14th annual Global TBM Council Awards.

As organizations face increasing pressure to demonstrate value from technology investments – especially in the era of AI – the TBM Council Awards recognize those leading the way in using Technology Business Management (TBM) to deliver measurable business outcomes.

Now in its 14th year, the TBM Council Awards is the premier global recognition program honoring organizations and individuals that are driving innovation, accountability, and impact through TBM.

“In the AI era, the stakes for technology investment have never been higher. At the TBM Council, we see our community using TBM to cut through the hype, ensuring every dollar is a strategic investment that delivers measurable business value,” said Matthew Guarini, Executive Director of the TBM Council. “The TBM Council Awards spotlight those who have mastered the TBM framework to accelerate tech delivery, especially AI, and deliver ROI.”

 

2026 Global Award Categories

Each year, the TBM Council refreshes its award categories to reflect the evolving priorities shaping modern organizations. For 2026, the following six global award categories are open to organizations and individuals from all regions across the globe:

  • AI Strategy and Value – Recognizes organizations that have leveraged TBM to bring transparency, governance, and measurable value realization to enterprise AI investments and operations.
  • Cloud Value Creation – Celebrates the use of TBM to unlock the value of complex cloud strategies through intelligent cloud adoption, FinOps practice integration, and modeling costs and consumption of on-premises infrastructure.
  • Financial Impact – Honors organizations that leverage TBM to optimize technology financials, drive strategic investment, and enhance business value.
  • Product and Portfolio Excellence – Rewards organizations that integrate TBM with strategic portfolio and product management to continuously deliver business value.
  • Public Sector Excellence – Recognizes public sector leaders who utilize TBM to enhance mission delivery, stakeholder outcomes, and operational excellence.
  • TBM Quick Starter – Recognizes early adopters who rapidly create measurable business value with TBM within the first 24 months of implementation and adoption.

In addition to these six global categories, the TBM Council recognizes two of its most prestigious honors – TBM Pioneer and TBM Professional of the Year – through a regional model. Recipients in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA); Asia-Pacific (APAC); and Japan (JP) are recognized at their respective regional TBM Summit or gathering earlier in the year.

Recipients from the Americas region for the following two awards will be honored at the TBM Conference in November:

  • TBM Pioneer (Americas) – Celebrates high maturity organizations residing in the Americas region that deliver breakthrough outcomes through advanced TBM use cases, practices or models
  • TBM Professional of the Year (Americas) – Honors a standout TBM professional and advocate residing in the Americas region who has significantly advanced TBM visibility, adoption, and impact within their organization and across the industry.

Red Hat built the world’s largest enterprise open-source software company, growing into a multi-billion-dollar firm before being acquired by IBM Corp. This open-source heritage often placed the value of technology in the product and engineering realm rather than with IT. Thus, not surprisingly, Red Hat’s TBM journey started with a new CFO wanting to know why IT costs were so high. The TBM Council Standards Committee has built out TBM integration models with other IT disciplines, including Enterprise Agile and Product Thinking, as well as ServiceNow CSDM. Current findings will be shared to drive group discussion, experience, and feedback. 

Public cloud strategies are often embraced for the promise of rapid scalability, on-demand agility, and best-in-class security, resiliency, and features. However, public cloud adoption presents significant financial challenges that, when not addressed, inhibit any firm’s ability to exploit the promises of public cloud.  

To address these challenges, customers need to simultaneously resolve current inefficiencies and build capability to ensure avoidance of waste in the long term.
