Erich Auer is a Managing Director of Credit Suisse in the Group Chief Operating Officer (COO) function, based in Zurich. As COO for Group CIO, Auer empowers and enables the IT organization to balance cost, risks and delivery quality to drive maximum value for the consumers of the technology services. Auer is globally responsible for Technology Account Management, Operational Risks and Controls, IT Service Management, Financial Management, Portfolio Management & PMO services, Technology Business Management (TBM), Performance Controlling, Workforce and Vendor Management, Solution Delivery Framework and Processes, as well as Strategic Transformation and Efficiency Initiatives.
Credit Suisse started the TBM journey a few years ago. TBM has been a very important part of our strategy to maximize the value of our technology services for our customer. Especially to provide framework, tooling, capabilities to (i) effectively govern stability, quality, risk and cost of the technology services in partnership with business and technology stakeholders as well as (ii) to identify the most impactful technology strategies for each business.
Auer joined Credit Suisse in 1995 and has held several management positions and led various strategic projects within the bank. Auer holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich, as well as an Executive MBA from the University of St. Gallen.
