Nominations Open for the Inaugural 2026 EMEA TBM Council Awards

Winners from the EMEA region to be honored at the 2026 TBM Summit EMEA on June 24, 2026, in Amsterdam, Netherlands

 

BELLEVUE, Wash. – March 11, 2026 – The Technology Business Management (TBM) Council, a global nonprofit business entity dedicated to advancing the practice of Technology Business Management (TBM), today announced the opening of nominations for the inaugural EMEA TBM Council Awards, recognizing companies and individuals across the Europe, Middle East, and Africa region. This announcement follows the recent unveiling of the next evolution of the TBM Council Awards, introducing a new global and regional recognition model.

The TBM Council Awards recognize organizations and professionals who are leveraging TBM to navigate the rapidly evolving technology landscape and deliver measurable business impact.

Nominations for the two EMEA regional awards open today, representing the first regional launch under this newly evolved model. Winners being announced at TBM Summit EMEA on June 24, 2026, in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Learn more about the TBM Summit EMEA here.

 

Recognition Opportunities for the EMEA TBM Community

Organizations and individuals in EMEA will now have two opportunities for recognition:

  1. Regional Recognition – Compete for the TBM Pioneer (EMEA) and TBM Professional of the Year (EMEA) awards, presented at TBM Summit EMEA in June.
  2. Global Recognition – Compete for any Global TBM Council Award category presented at the annual TBM Conference in November.

Organizations and individuals from any region, including EMEA, may apply for global award categories such as Cloud Value Creation, Financial Impact, and others when nominations open in mid-April 2026.

Regional award recipients will also be recognized during the global awards ceremony at the TBM Conference, ensuring visibility on both regional and global stages.

 

EMEA Awards Categories

Organizations and individuals in the EMEA region may apply for the following awards:

  • TBM Pioneer (EMEA) – The TBM Pioneer (EMEA) award celebrates high maturity organizations that are driving breakthrough results through either deep penetration of TBM across its operation or advanced TBM use-cases. It honors those that have leveraged TBM to deliver transformative outcomes in areas such as the ROI of AI, sustainability initiatives, risk management, enterprise business management, and other advanced topics.
  • TBM Professional of the Year (EMEA) – The TBM Professional of the Year (EMEA) award honors a standout TBM professional and advocate who has significantly advanced the visibility, adoption, and impact of TBM throughout their organization and the industry at large. The recipient will have demonstrated a pivotal role in driving TBM success by championing TBM principles, mentoring peers, actively participating in TBM Council activities and events, and contributing impactful thought leadership that elevates TBM both internally and across the broader industry.

Red Hat built the world’s largest enterprise open-source software company, growing into a multi-billion-dollar firm before being acquired by IBM Corp. This open-source heritage often placed the value of technology in the product and engineering realm rather than with IT. Thus, not surprisingly, Red Hat’s TBM journey started with a new CFO wanting to know why IT costs were so high. Through the TBM framework and discipline, Red Hat IT successfully delivered cost transparency of all IT spend and then became a model for technology spend planning and forecasting. The IT team added the FinOps discipline to its capabilities and is now managing a broad hybrid cloud portfolio. However, TBM and FinOps have remained in the realm of IT only, until now. The TBM Council Standards Committee has built out TBM integration models with other IT disciplines, including Enterprise Agile and Product Thinking, as well as ServiceNow CSDM. Current findings will be shared to drive group discussion, experience, and feedback. 

Public cloud strategies are often embraced for the promise of rapid scalability, on-demand agility, and best-in-class security, resiliency, and features. However, public cloud adoption presents significant financial challenges that, when not addressed, inhibit any firm’s ability to exploit the promises of public cloud.  

To address these challenges, customers need to simultaneously resolve current inefficiencies and build capability to ensure avoidance of waste in the long term.
